Flo
Flo is a 20 year old, 11.3 hh, Dartmoor Hill Pony who arrived at the Sanctuary in 2003 and has now been in our care for 17 years.
Fidget
With specialist care provided by our expert grooms, Fidget made a speedy recovery and she soon went out on loan to one of our knowledgeable carers.
Sprite
Sprite, a bay moorland mare, was born in 2011 and when she arrived at the Sanctuary, she was completely unhandled and very fearful of human contact.
Arnie and Marmite
Arnie was losing considerable weight and appeared dull. His companion Marmite was suffering with sweetitch and was covered in scabs under his fluffy coat.
Ovie
Orphaned foal Ovie came into our care in 2019 after he was found abandoned and alone on private land.
Whispering Willows
The Sanctuary took in 15 very young colts as part of the multi-agency rescue led by the RSPCA.
Komet
Nicky’s work with Komet continues and his training journey has been captured in a new training film we’re now using to share best practice with other equine owners.

Grooms at the Sanctuary had a welcome surprise upon their arrival to work when rescue pony Sandy unexpectedly gave birth to a healthy colt foal.
