Sammy the Thoroughbred came to the Sanctuary when his owner reached out to us; she couldn’t provide the level of care he desperately needed.

Quest’s incredibly calm temperament made him perfect working with our education team on our Equine Assisted Learning programmes.

Buttermilk and Marley were found on a busy industrial estate in Cornwall, both injured, emaciated and running around terrified.

Our team worked round-the-clock to make sure Ava was safe and had everything she needed, including a teddy bear for company.

Missie is one of 25 horses based at our retirement yard. Although we call them ‘retired’, these ponies include those with the most complex, long-term care needs.

The filly foal was born at our Honeysuckle Yard but developed a life-threatening condition. 

Mouse had been through so much before he arrived at the Sanctuary: desperate conditions on the moors, a major round up and rescue mission and months spent at a holding centre.

Razzle and Shadow were among 26 horses taken from North Devon Equine Rescue in Barnstaple where they had been left to suffer in dirty stables and without enough food and water to stay healthy.

Thanks to your incredible and ongoing support we have been able to spend the past nine months rehabilitating 5-year-old Phoenix.
