Inca has spent many years attending shows, rally's and pony club events and has had a very successful ridden carer.

Inca is being rehomed as a companion equine.

Inca has spent many years attending shows, rally’s and pony club events and has had a very successful ridden carer. He has now earnt his retirement and is looking for a home where he can settle and build a one to one bond with someone. Inca is generally good to handle but would benefit from someone with experience as he does need reassurance in some situations and likes time to get to know people.

He would love a home where he will get lots of love and attention, he likes to be groomed and is a gentle boy. His ideal home would be a quiet one, with someone with an interest in positive training methods as Inca has been progressing well and is growing in confidence for vet and farrier visits.

In the paddock, he can be playful, but is generally relaxed in a herd, he has lived with larger gelding with us. He will need his weight monitoring to prevent obesity and laminitis. He is happy to be left when other equines are taken away to be exercised, making him the ideal companion pony. Inca has shown signs of sweet itch in the past, so this would need monitoring in a new environment.

Become a Sanctuary at Home Carer

To help you become a Sanctuary at Home Carer, we have a dedicated team managing our scheme and their job is to help find the right equine for you and then support you throughout your rehoming experience.

Our Pathways

We have three rehoming pathways within our Sanctuary at Home scheme. These are:

Prime Pastures

This scheme enables us to rehome horses and ponies with long-term medical conditions that are manageable. You'll be required to help support their condition with regular monitoring and we contribute towards the costs of their veterinary treatments.

Foster

Working alongside us to socialise and train young or rideable horses for future work in our education programmes. You'll help provide a home setting for these horses to mature before returning to the Sanctuary for further assessment. We work closely with you to keep up to date records of their training, achievements, milestones, setbacks and all aspects of their care.

Standard

Means you help provide a sanctuary at home for as many years as you can for a horse or pony from our charity on a loan basis.
