Responsible to: Shop Manager
Salary: £10.42 per hour, pending pay review in April
Location: Torbay
Hours of work: 15 hours per week over 3 days (to include one weekend day)
Please note, this position will be subject to a DBS check
Main Purpose of the Role:
Covering the running of the retail shops as and when needed
Assisting in attaining the various shop KPI targets
Always delivering a high standard of customer service and engagement
Ensuring a standard of excellence is maintained across the retail department
Assisting to manage paid staff and volunteers
Play a key role in promoting the Mare and Foal Sanctuary work and values
What You’ll be Doing
Shop Standards:
Maintaining a high standard of visual merchandising in both the windows and the shop floor with the guidance of the shop manager
Ensuring there are high standards of cleanliness on the shop floor and the back of house areas.
Encouraging a stable welcoming retail environment for customers, staff and volunteers
People Management:
Assisting in managing the team in accordance with the MFS policies and procedures
Ensuring all instructions and information from Head Office are communicate to the relevant team members effectively and efficiently
Health and Safety:
Ensuring all MFS health and safety procedures and policies are always followed
Reporting all maintenance issues in a timely manner
Stock Management:
Building excellent customer relations to encourage donations
Allowing good quality stock to be on the shop floor
Following the processing system is in place to ensure stock heads to the salesfloor in a timely manner
Communicating with the Retail Hub to arrange stock deliveries of items needed
Identifying high value items to be sent to the Online Department
Using pricing guideline and online research to effective price goods for sale
Gift Aid:
Always be a role model to the team on how-to sign-up gift aid donors
Ensuring a good processing system for handling gift aid stock
Prioritising gift aid stock to the shop floor
Ensuring GDPR compliance with the gift aid donor information
Administration:
Complying with all MFS administration procedures
Managing paperwork in the correct manner
Demonstrating competency in using IT equipment
Other:
Building and developing positive internal relationships
Be willing to travel to meetings
Be open to training and development opportunities
Ensuring that the Mare and Foal Sanctuary’s reputation is always enhanced and promoted through your actions
Working in collaboration with colleagues from the Fundraising and Communications team to help with gathering of content for campaigns and communications and when events are delivered events at your base
