Lanyon is a gentle little pony. He is good to walk, groom and pick up his feet, and he has been handled by children. He has lived with both mares and geldings. Lanyon has done a small amount of ridden work, mostly on the lanes.

Lanyon has no known health conditions. As a small native type, he will need restricted grazing and careful weight monitoring.
Training Level:
Lanyon is good to handle. He is not confident when travelling, so location will be taken into consideration.
Lanyon's Past
Lanyon arrived with us in 2016 as part of a multi-agency operation to control equine numbers on Bodmin moor.

We are looking for a companion home for Lanyon, or a home where he could be a lead rein pony. He has done a small amount of ridden work, mostly on the lanes, and has been led out both alone and in company.
If Lanyon goes to a ridden home, we would like this to be with someone who enjoys hacking and is not looking to travel him frequently to events, as this would not suit him. Lanyon is respectful of electric fencing. His ideal home would include another equine with similar restricted grazing needs.
Lanyon currently lives with a Sanctuary at Home carer in the Dartmouth area. Any successful applicant must be prepared to travel to meet him. Required number of visits: minimum of two.
Based on his size and weight, we will consider a small child rider, with a maximum rider weight of 3.5 stone.
