Personality
Flash is a calm and confident gelding who enjoys gentle fuss and attention, particularly during grooming. He is easy to handle and approaches new experiences with a positive attitude - whether it’s visits from the vet, farrier work, clipping, bathing, or rugging.
He is respectful of electric fencing and settles comfortably in his environment. Flash thrives on mental stimulation and particularly enjoys enrichment activities, especially those involving food. He’s an intelligent pony who loves to stay engaged and active, making him an excellent companion.
Health and Training
Health Status:
Flash previously had laminitis and Equine Metabolic Syndrome (EMS), though he’s not currently on medication. Flash requires lameness checks every six months and is currently on one Equioxx tablet each morning. He’s shod in front on a six-weekly cycle and is fed a biotin supplement to support healthy hooves. He has previously been treated for sarcoids, so ongoing monitoring will be necessary.
Training Level:
Flash is not currently in any specific behavioural training but is generally easy to handle and responds well to gentle, consistent handling.
Flash's Past
Flash come into the Sanctuary in 2019 when his owner could no longer care for him.

Rehoming Fee: £50
Flash ideally needs a home where he can live out with access to shelter and not need to be shut in a stable for long periods. Flash is best suited to a home with limited grazing and a stable field companion who will stay with him, as he doesn’t cope well when left alone. He requires a flat, even field, as steep hills could aggravate his lameness.
Friendly and easy to be around, he has previously been turned out with both mares and geldings.
